“Cissie & Ada: An Hysterical Rectomy” – Original 2013 Promotional Leaflet for Comedy Stage Play at Devonshire Park Theatre

£20.00

Description

Description:
This is an original 2013 promotional leaflet for the stage comedy “Cissie & Ada: An Hysterical Rectomy”, presented by Broadway Theatre and Cutting The Strings. The production is based on Les Dawson’s beloved TV characters Cissie and Ada, made famous in the 1980s with Roy Barraclough. This nostalgic tribute brings the two iconic northern women back to life in a brand-new comedy play written by Graham Warrener, in collaboration with original Ada script advisor Terry Ravenscroft.

The performance ran from Monday 21 to Wednesday 23 October 2013 at Devonshire Park Theatre in Eastbourne, with evening shows at 7.45pm and a matinee on Wednesday at 2.30pm. Ticket prices ranged from £14.50 to £19, with concessions available.

The leaflet features colour production photos of the cast in action, including Eric Potts (Diggory from Coronation Street) and Steven Arnold (Ashley). The show humorously reimagines classic sketches from the BBC’s Light Entertainment golden age, celebrating the comedic genius of Dawson and Barraclough while introducing their work to a new generation.

Professionally mounted on black cardboard, this promotional piece measures approximately 14 x 20 cm (5.5 x 7.9 inches), making it a unique and collectible memento for fans of British comedy, Les Dawson, or vintage television spin-off theatre.

Condition Note:
This is a genuine promotional leaflet from 2013. As a piece of theatre ephemera over a decade old, it may show mild signs of age such as light surface wear, edge toning, or faint handling marks. These features are expected and enhance its authenticity as a collectible item.
